The moment Lulu the tiny chihuahua and Blizzard the St Bernard met, they formed an instant bond.

Blizzard adopted Lulu as his daughter. And an essential part of that new bond? Letting Lulu ride on his back at all times of the day.

‘When Lulu met Blizzard for the first time I think she adopted him as a parent, because she was too young to be on her own,’ says the dogs’ owner, David Mazzarella.

‘She would follow him all around the house and started sleeping with him.

‘Her favourite place was on his back when he was laying down and over time she got comfortable in this position. When he stood up, she would jump around constantly to get on his back where she felt the most comfortable.’

Now, whenever Lulu doesn’t feel like walking, Blizzard lets Lulu hop on his back.

Thankfully Lulu is pretty tiny, and Blizzard doesn’t mind being used as a sofa or a mode of transport one bit.

This tiny dog and massive dog have a great time hanging out in North America.

‘Blizzard is the most laid back dog, he is tolerant of everything,’ says David.

‘Let’s just say Lulu wears the pants in the family, and Blizzard doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.

‘Never once has he growled at me and I can take a chicken bone out of his mouth with my mouth.

‘Whereas Lulu is just the opposite, she always gets her way with Blizzard.’
