Feeling nostalgic? Courtney Love's new collection for Nasty Gal is a major '90s throwback, with lace tops and slip dresses inspired by pieces in the singer's own closet

  • Courtney, 51, has collaborated on a new fashion collection for the edgy brand, which was modeled off vintage pieces she's saved
  • Several of the pieces, which include lingerie-like slips, babydoll dresses, and bodysuits are similar to ones the star wore in the '90s
  • The line, which debuted on Thursday, is already beginning to sell out

The '90s called - and they told Courtney Love to bring her sexy rocker style back.

The 51-year-old singer teamed up with e-retailer Nasty Gal on an exclusive collection of dresses, tops, bodysuits, and accessories, all of which were inspired by her own very-famous style from decades ago.

In fact, several of the lacy, satiny, and sheer pieces were modeled directly off items she wore on stage during her band Hole's heyday, but updated with a twist for 2016.

'The starting point was lingerie meets real world,' Courtney explained in an interview on Nasty Gal's site. 'We looked at some of my rock-star '90s stuff and redid that in a more contemporary way.

'We went through my closet and pulled out some really special pieces that I had saved. I always take vintage and re-adapt it, so I doodled on the original sketches, adding details like handcrafted, romantic, three-dimensional accents. '

When Hole was on the road, Courtney was known for rocking lingerie-like slip dresses for performances. Her on-stage and red-carpet look wasn't complete without something sheer or slinky, which she topped off with a messy bedhead 'do.

And that's exactly the feel she went for with the new line, which retails for $18 to $188.

In the campaign images, a blonde Courtney doppelganger models simple slips, cutesy babydoll dresses, seriously sexy lace bustiers and panties, and racy tutus.

She even takes on Courtney's signature red pout and torn fishnets - though the fishnets in the collection come without the runs often seen on the singer's own legs.

'There are two dresses that are modernized from really famous ones I wore back in the day, done in fabrics that are so luxe,' Courtney said. It’s such a cool collection: it feels new and slightly nostalgic at the same time.'

She didn't skimp on accessories, either, including fishnets (naturally), heels, bodychains, and even tiny tiaras in the collection.

But it's one of the slinkier pieces that gets her greatest stamp of approval: 'The lace bodysuit - I’ve been wanting to make one of those for 10 years!'

It may come as a surprise to some that Courtney's only now debuting a clothing collection, over 24 years after Hole's first album, Pretty on the Inside, was released - but the star said she's picky about her projects.

'I haven’t put my name on much, and I wasn’t going to be in on it if wasn’t a real collaboration. And it was,' she said.

For plenty of fans, it was worth the wait. Since the collection became available to buy on Thursday, several pieces have already sold out, and shoppers are freaking out on social media.

'Beautiful stuff. Can I wear that bustier in public? JK, I'm not asking for permission,' wrote one, while another added: 'The @NastyGal X @Courtney Love collection is literally EVERYTHING I've ever wanted and more. Perfection.'

Even her daughter with the late Kurt Cobain, Francis Bean, is pretty stoked about the clothes.

'It's cool when ur mom has a clothing line you actually like and she pulled one of everything for you without asking [sic],' she tweeted.
