Asda worker Freddie Andrews decided to make the most of the near-empty London Bridge station - but the prank went painfully wrong
A DARTS fan was filmed by his mate bouncing painfully down a London Underground escalator in a prank gone wrong – but says he didn’t feel a thing after sinking ten pints.
Freddie Andrews, 22, was on his way home from the PDC World Championships at Ally Pally when he decided to slide down the metal chute between two escalators at London Bridge station on Wednesday night.
In a wince-inducing video, the Asda worker is shown being struck hard between the legs by an emergency stop button as his mates laugh hysterically in the background.
He gathers pace again, sliding another 40ft before smashing into a metal sign and backflipping onto the moving staircase.
Freddie told The Sun Online: “At first it was really funny, but then when my friends saw me go head first, they went ‘oh s***’.
“It’s all fun and games until someone goes head first on the escalator.”
He said he landed at the feet of another surprised commuter travelling up the escalator.
Freddie, of Tonbridge, Kent, said: “It wasn’t planned, it was a one off because there was no one else on the escalator, so I thought I would chance it.
“I’m injured but it’s all worth it – I mainly hurt my knee and it’s bruised but it’ll go.
“The gentleman asked me if I was OK and I said yes and went on my way.”
Freddie said he was bruised all over after the painful experience, which he said was a “good idea at the time” – but the next day he was barely able to walk.
He said last night: “I had drunk enough not to feel the pain.
“I woke up this morning and couldn’t move, but I’m fine now.”
The video was shared with pals on social media, with one person commenting: "I've watched this so many times now and I can't breathe."
Another added: "His face of regret afterwards."
It's not the first time that people have been caught on camera tripping - with hapless members of the public filmed crashing into objects.
And a drummer was filmed breaking a bone while competing in an arm wrestle.
The sickening crack captured the moment Phillip Hearsey-Wyatt was seriously injured, almost passing out from the pain.
