Mum, 45, lost four stone to become a bikini model… and she shares her tips for staying young
Aussie mum Justine Whitchurch is in the best shape of her life in her 40s - after losing 3st 11lb and hitting the gym 10 times a week
THIS bikini model mum is in the best shape of her life in her forties - and she swears by the simple things in life to keep her looking young.
Justine Whitchurch, from Gold Church, Australia, shed 3st 11lb when she turned 40 and entered her first bikini modelling competition a year later.
Now 45, she's turned her back on her old lifestyle of over-eating and drinking "excessive amounts of alcohol", which landed her in hospital A&E twice.
She told the Mail Online: "I had lost all control, and when I visited the hospital I was told I wouldn't survive if I continued down this path."
Adding that looking into her daughter's eyes was her "catalyst" for getting healthy, Justine said: "I didn't want to die."
She completely overhauled her lifestyle - and went from 11st 2lb to a trim 7st 5lb, later coming third in Miss Bikini Australia Musclemania.
Justine's day on a plate
- BREAKFAST: Protein oats or almond milk with berries
- MORNING SNACK: Ham or chicken salad wrap
- LUNCH: Chicken, vegetables and rice
- AFTERNOON SNACK: Nut bar and protein shake
- DINNER: Meat with vegetables - or a stew made in her slow cooker
Justine said she does five cardio sessions and a further five weight strength sessions in the gym every week.
While she is religious, but straightforward, about her exercise regime - making sure she gets at least seven hours of sleep each night, drinks several litres of water, and eats lots of greens.
She also moisturises her entire body twice-a-day, uses an anti-ageing moisturiser and always wears make-up if she's out in public.
She added: "Eyebrows and eyelashes are a big thing for me. I think women can look a lot older when they don't maintain those two things. And highlight those cheekbones!"
